Description

Okoume-Faced Plywood pairs a uniform, pinkish-brown Okoume face veneer with structurally graded inner cores. Sourced from sustainable tropical and plantation timbers, the Okoume face provides an exceptionally smooth, knot-free surface optimized for painting, staining, and lamination.
Manufactured in our 45,000 sqm facility, we control the entire process from rotary peeling to hot pressing, ensuring consistent panel flatness and internal bond strength for industrial applications.

Key Features

Uniform Surface: Fine-textured Okoume face veneer allows minimal finishing preparation for furniture and interior lining.

Superior Bonding: Pressed using Phenolic WBP (Water Boiled Proof) or Melamine adhesives, passing 72-hour boil tests without delamination.

Dimensional Stability: Multi-layer cross-banded core construction minimizes warping and twisting under changing humidity.

Low Formaldehyde Emission: Compliant with CARB P2, TSCA Title VI, and E1/E0 emission standards.

Applications

RV & Yacht Interiors: Lightweight ceiling panels, wall linings, and cabinetry where clean aesthetics and weight reduction matter.

Furniture Manufacturing: Substrate for high-end residential and office furniture, veneering, and direct painting.

Architectural Millwork: Interior wall paneling, ceiling baffles, and decorative architectural elements.

Packaging & Crating: Durable export crates requiring high impact resistance and clean appearance.

Customization Options

Core Selection: Choose between lightweight Poplar core for weight-sensitive uses or full Hardwood/Eucalyptus core for maximum load-bearing strength.

Thickness & Grading: Custom thickness grading down to 0.1mm tolerances; single-piece face veneers without joint lines available upon request.

Edge Treatment: Factory-applied edge sealing (waterproof paint) and tongue-and-groove (T&G) profiling.

Packaging Customization: ISPM 15 heat-treated plywood pallets, corner protectors, and moisture-barrier plastic wrapping for ocean freight.

Manufacturing Capacity & Quality Control

Operating 6 automated hot-press lines and advanced rotary lathes, our monthly output reaches 8,000 CBM. Quality control is enforced at four key checkpoints:

Veneer Sorting: Optical scanning and manual grading for color consistency and defect removal.

Moisture Control: Automated drying kilns maintain core moisture strictly between 8% and 12% prior to gluing.

Press Monitoring: Computer-controlled temperature and pressure sensors record every press cycle to guarantee core bond integrity.

Physical Testing: In-house laboratory performs daily shear strength tests, formaldehyde emission chamber tests, and 72-hour immersion boil tests.

FAQ

Q: What is the difference between WBP Phenolic glue and Melamine glue for Okoume plywood?

A: WBP Phenolic glue withstands exterior exposure and extended moisture contact (tested for 72+ hours in boiling water under EN 314-2 Class 3), suited for marine and semi-exterior use. Melamine glue is suitable for interior humid environments (kitchens, bathrooms) and offers a cost-effective alternative for covered applications.

Q: Are your Okoume face veneers sourced sustainably?

A: Yes. All Okoume logs and plantation timbers comply with EUTR and Lacey Act requirements, with FSC-certified options available upon contract request.

Q: Can we evaluate physical samples before placing a bulk order?

A: Yes. We provide free A4-sized sample kits for structural and surface evaluation, with express courier shipping available upon request.

Q: What is your standard Minimum Order Quantity (MOQ)?

A: One 40-foot high cube (40HQ) container, approximately 50 to 54 CBM depending on panel thickness. Mixed thickness loading within one container is supported.

Q: What is the typical lead time for production?

A: Standard production takes 15 to 25 days following receipt of deposit and technical drawing approval.
