The thickness of construction formwork varies depending on the material and purpose. Common construction formwork thicknesses are generally between 9mm and 20mm:

Wooden Formwork:

Thicknesses typically range from 12mm to 20mm, depending on the application and requirements. For example, foundation formwork side panels are approximately 20mm thick, while column and floor formwork (plywood) is approximately 12mm thick.

Based on strength and purpose, wooden formwork can also be classified into different grades. Grade 1 wooden formwork (Grade Y) is generally 12-18mm thick and suitable for structural parts of high-end buildings; Grade 2 wooden formwork (Grade J) is generally 9-12mm thick and widely used in ordinary residential and commercial buildings.

Steel Formwork:

According to my country's GB/T 9775-2008 standard, the thickness of steel formwork should be selected based on factors such as project usage conditions, formwork strength, slate quality, and performance. Common specifications include 5mm, 10mm, 15mm, 20mm, 25mm, and 30mm. When selecting the thickness of building formwork, factors such as national standards, load-bearing capacity, material properties, construction requirements, and economic efficiency must be comprehensively considered to ensure construction quality and safety.
